A Balanced Scorecard bridges the gap between vision and strategy and execution, based on the premise that financial performance depends on satisfying customers, which results from having effective business processes, which in turn requires necessary organizational competencies. It includes a set of linked and aligned and deployed performance measurements that are deployed across four organizational dimensions: financial, customer, internal processes, and learning and growth. Their primary purpose is to provide management with an integrated and comprehensive approach to the implementation of a given set of strategies and derived operational objectives.
