The Certificate in Strategic Management (CSM) is an eight-session program designed to enhance the strategic management capability of established strategic planning and management consultants, corporate planning units and strategic management professionals of all types.  The program, which was unveiled during the group’s 2008 Annual Conference, will enable teams of strategy practitioners to build and expand their technical strategic management capabilities. CSM is designed to be a practical education and training program to guide leadership teams in the midst of marketplace turbulence, disruptive technologies and global competition.

The program facilitates the development of strategies and systems to address immediate challenges, prepares leadership teams for unpredictable change, and differentiates participating organizations from the competition. Individual learning teams and the learning community as a whole will engage and apply the concepts directly to their particular organization.  An easy-to-use suite of Web-based planning tools and online support facilitates remote and anonymous collection and reporting throughout the course.

Six of the eight sessions will be delivered online with the first and last sessions occurring face to face bring the entire community of participants together for program kick off and exit discussions and peer networking. The program is offered in collaboration with the Association for Strategic Planning Chicago Chapter.
