Online Certificate Program in 2007
Having “basic” information about a particular subject area often times enables individuals and organizations to get started on any management topic they wish to engage. Over time the application of basic information turns into practical knowledge that can be enhanced through continuous improvement. Here at LBL Strategies, Ltd. (LBL) we are big believers in the importance of owners, executives and mid-level managers understanding the basic principles of strategy development, implementation and measurement. For this reason we are launching our Certificate in Strategic Management program on the web in 2007.
Delivered through four, two hour online sessions (large group), structured assignments and remote coaching, the program will run six months (April through September) covering LBL’s battle-tested Management Through Applied Planning Process® (MAPP) methodology specific to:
- Planning logistics, environmental scanning and SWOT analysis
- Strategy formulation specific to organization values, mission, goals and vision
- Developing and executing a practical and thoughtful operating plan including a balanced set of objectives and strategic initiatives
- Developing, reporting and utilizing an effective set of performance metrics to steer the organization.
Participants will be supplied / supported with their own online Microsoft Sharepoint site (for one year) housing all course materials, syllabus, and assignments structured within a storage hierarchy custom tailored to the program. Large group sessions and online coaching will be delivered “live” via Microsoft Live Meeting with recordings made available to participants once sessions are completed. Certificates are awarded once the course requirements have been successfully completed. Custom courses are also available. Custom courses include each of the sessions in the “base” program, plus LBL’s online strategic planning tool (i.e. MAPPware 2.2), and can include onsite consultation and facilitation, as well as online stakeholder surveys.
